Wanyange Girls School.

One lazy Thursday afternoon my mentors and I followed a bumpy red dirt road to reach Wanyange Girls School. Atop a lonely hill in the village of Bugembe, Uganda lies a secondary school full of future conservationists.
We host an aquatic conservation program at NaFIRRI that incorporates the minds of young students living within the great lakes of Eastern Africa and America. Cyberspace introduces these young and vibrant minds on the issues of biodiversity, biology if fish and other aquatic species, water mangement, cultural issues and more. The limbs of a passionfruit tree swayed back and forth in the sunset kissed wind like the eager legs of a child on a swing. After briefing teachers on forums and aiding tools, we parted ways with smiles on both ends. It is with pleasure that I get to take part in such a program. It is refreshing to see that research done within a national department can reach the minds of isolated children in rural Uganda.
Delightful.

Until next time,
